Publication on "An Insight on Traditional Conservation Practices in Southeast Asia"
As a follow-up of the workshop on Traditional Knowledge and Scientific Principles of Conservation held in Vientiane in December 2007, CollAsia2010 with support from UNESCO Paris will publish a book on "An Insight on Traditional Conservation Practices in Southeast Asia" to document the traditional conservation practices of collections in the region.
We would like to ask all CollAsia colleagues to contribute to the publication by submitting an article on traditional conservation methods/practices used in your institution or your country which help preserve the heritage collections.
The requirements are as follows:
1. The article should be no longer than 5 pages (A4 size) with accompanying photos/ illustrations.
2. You are welcome to submit more than one article if you think there are different interesting traditional methods practiced in your country/institution.
3. Please send the article to me at patchy@seameo-spafa.org or collasia2010@seameo-spafa.org by 10 August 2008.
4. Please also send with the article a short biography describing who you are, your workplace, your interests, etc. as well as your photograph.
Please don't worry about writing in English. Once we get the articles we'll be working with the editor on the book and you'll be informed of the progress. The publication will also be put up on the CollAsia2010 website as part of the resources page for a wider dissemination.
